Last Wednesday before the start to the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral, Titleist Brand Ambassador Nick Watney took a break from his pre-tourney prep to hang out with Team Titleist and give us a tour of his Titleist equipment.
Four days later, Nick rolled his Pro V1x golf ball in for birdie from 12 feet on TPC Blue Monster's menacing par-4 18th to lock up the biggest victory of his career to date. He'll try to make it back-to-back wins this week at the Transitions Championship at Innisbrook's Copperhead Course.
Check out the above video to hear the story behind Nick's winning setup.
Here are the details:Ball: Titleist Pro V1xDriver: 910D3 10.5º, B•2 SureFit Tour (SFT) setting (Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana White 83)Fairway: 910F 15.0º, A•1 SFT setting (Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana Blue 93)Hybrid: 910H 21.0º, A•1 SFT setting (Aldila VooDoo VS9)*Irons (3-PW): AP2 (True Temper Dynamic Gold)**Wedges: Vokey Design Spin Milled 54º, TVD60º (True Temper Dynamic Gold)Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport Tour Prototype (350g)
*Due to the windy conditions last week in Miami, Nick added a Titleist AP2 3-iron to his bag temporarily in place of his new 910F 19º fairway metal. There are a few holes at Doral that call for lower, more penetrating 220-plus-yard shots and felt more comfortable hitting those shots with the 3-iron.
**All of Nick's AP2 irons (3-PW) are 1º weak from standard, as he is a lower launch/spinning player.
