so i was able to get to the titleist trial event, which ended up being a bit of a mess since the club set up the trial event with all the other major manufacturers, too.  and the club set up appointments for fittings so the titleist rep was busy half the time with clients...but that's neither here nor there.

i was able to run my 913d3 against the 915d3 with my setup on the launch monitor to see the numbers.  couldn't memorize them all since we were being pushed thru like cattle, but here are the general highlights:

    913d3 9.5 - b1 setting, 04 kiyoshi purple untipped: 92mph / 2400+ spin / 18* launch / 240ish total

    915d3 9.5 - b1 setting, 04 kiyoshi purple untipped: 90mph / 2200 spin / 18* launch / 260ish total

again, i didn't see all the numbers, so i couldn't get the carry vs roll distances, but as you can see, the 915 was definitely longer.  seriously - dropping 200 rpm?  that's ridiculous!  and honestly, i haven't seen 260 since i was in my 20s.  oh, by the way, these were all measured hitting crappy tm range balls.  i was a bit worried about the high launch (i think based on having the ball more up in my stance than i'm used to), but the pros running the launch monitors seemed pretty happy.  and thinking about it, i was looking for a higher launch to keep the ball up in the air longer.

i think i could get better results, but the shaft was installed last week and i'm still getting used to it, along with making swing changes to protect my elbow.  but overall, the ball flight with the 915 is pretty straight.  i kind of wish i could have tried the rouge 110 (along with getting some time in with the ap2's), but with the way things were set up and my limited time today, i just couldn't get to it.  maybe i'll try the demo next week in dc.
