Well - here we go... It is Ryder Cup time again ! I look forward to the competition as it pits two powerful teams against each other in a variety of Match Play contests. Most of the golf we get to watch is based on Stroke Play competitions and it is nice to have the nuances of Match Play on display at such an important event. A lot is said about the fact that you can make a triple and still be in the game as it is only one hole lost, but then again, many matches are lost by only one hole ! The tension begins and ends on every tee block and green making match play full of excitement, where every putt to win a hole can be critical... Bring on the weekend !

Used to be USA vs UK. When they changed it to add all Europe, I think they should have also changed it from USA to North America. Sure would be nice to have all the talent from north and south of the border to add to the mix as partners as opposed to adversaries in the President's Cup. Regardless, it is what it is. Should be some entertaining TV this weekend.

So the U.S. won the Cup in a commanding fashion. There is little doubt that they started with the best slate of players but more importantly, their team just played better ! I root for the European Team for the same reason I root for the World Team in the Presidents Cup - I am not American. Over all it was disappointing to see the European's lose their matches one after another. It was sad to see Rory and Ian Poulter lose their matches but good to see them step up on Sunday. Too little by then, but a positive note just the same. Shane Lowry and Victor Hovland were simply amazing to watch in their rookie appearances. I have a feeling the next Ryder Cup competition may be a much tighter challenge :)

    Lethbridge,

Simple reason US won they played so much better than the Euros. The Euros just did not have anything going for them. I was however disgusted with the actions of some of the US team. Koepka acting like an entitlement teenager when told that he was not allowed relief by two referees and Berger continuing to discuss it with the referee.

Hopefully this isn't that far off topic, mostly for the Europeans.... "Feel Good, Look Good, Play Good". Don't any of these guys have a shaver? They look like they just rolled out of bed from a major night before blowout, no wonder they lost.
