Sometimes for me, it depends on the day. Some days like last week in the cooler weather I will hit Velocity. Before that I was playing an AVX. If I am playing a casual round I will switch balls if I miss a few putts in a row. On the other side, if I am playing well, it doesn't seem to matter which ball I am playing.

I don’t think I ever heard the AVX was designed for slow swing players. There are mid-speed players that get more distance with irons with the AVX. Backing up your observations and Dale’s comments, the ball fitter eventually made a game of it with me. Every time I hit a ball barely off the turf, it was either an AVX or left dash. I was not aware it was the ball and not just a miss hit. Just another confirmation that the X was still my best option. And why Titleist makes so many different balls.

Ball fitters will tell you that you will normally need a high spinning ball for slow swing speeds to get more loft. That means ProV1x for most of them. Some short hitters like the AVX for its soft feel and like the low trajectory on tee shots for getting more roll. It boils down to personal preference.

I might be wrong but the AVX is for slower swing speeds. I have it one a few times and I almost struggle to get the ball airborne.

Re-enforces the “get fit for the ball” message. Left dash is my favourite.

Was a big fan of the AVX but they now look like range balls with the triple stripe. Looking forward to trying the left dash next season.

To me, the AVX has a very heavy feel. The ProV1 and the X both have a much livelier feel, and seem to jump off the face. I’m not a fan of the AVX.

The ProV1 left dash is my favorite ball. I’ve absolutely been crushing my drives with this ball. There is a reason Bryson Dechambeau uses it.

i switched to AVX about a year ago and have been very happy with the results. If you have not tried them in a while - you should give them another chance.

Left dash Pro-V1x is the lower spin option to the X. Pro-V1 is also a lower spin option as well to trial.

I agree with you. The 2024 AVX is a spruced up Tour speed. I was able to get a couple of dozen 2022 AVXs thank goodness.
The recent Mygolfspy top 93 ball ratings places the 2022 and 2020 AVX balls way above the 2024s. Disappointed with the 2024 ball entirely.

The AVX is a good ball and comparing it to the Velocity is out of bounds. I have played both. Not in the same league. As a Titleist loyalist, I have at least tried all the balls more than one time and am loyal to the Prov1. The AVX has similarities to the Prov1 and the Prov1x as designed. I find that it is a few yards longer that the Prov1 after trying it for a month when they were first introduced, but opted to stay with my Prov1. I was fitted by Titleist to see what ball was best for me. Titleist offers an array of balls for different skill levels and pocket books. Of course during the spring Titleist has an offering to all their loyalist where we can get our favorite balls at 4 dozen for the price of three. Most of us stock up then, therefore saving a great deal on our favorites. Velocity is a hard ball designed for distance. Frankly not something that I choose to put in my bag. As to which ball I play in different weather conditions, same ball.

I actually think the velocity is similar in performance and half the cost.

I think the avx is kinda a flop for Titleist.
