620MB PW/ Vokey GW Transition

  1. Hey Team Titleist. Been gaming a set of srxn ZX7 for a handful of years and looking to get back into some more traditional blades. ZX7 are fine but they're a bit chunky for my liking (particularly in the short irons) and launch a bit high -- I've always struggled in the wind and prefer something that helps me flight the ball like a blade.

My questions is related to the blade length of the 620MB PW. I've always played a set PW vs. a Vokey, and I know the 620s obviously have a compact look, but one thing that drives me nuts is when the set PW is way shorter heal to toe than my GW (I play a Vokey 52). Just feels odd for the profile to get smaller as I transition up the bag.

Anyone gaming 620MBs and a Vokey GW and have any insight into the size comparison? I'd imagine Titleist has thought of this but wanted to confirm before pulling the trigger. Thanks!

I have a 712MB PW alongside a 50-degree Vokey, and the blade on the PW is marginally smaller heel-to-toe than the Vokey.

Honestly, though, I don’t see it mattering once you get settled in. They are designed for different things, the iron is built for precision and flight control on full shots, while the Vokey is built for versatility and grind interaction around the green. Because the sole profiles and leading edges function so differently, the visual transition feels more like a shift in 'utility' than a jarring size difference.

Also, it's worth considering that those launch conditions are often more of a fitting mismatch than an issue with the iron head itself. If you're struggling to keep the ball down in the wind, a shaft change or an adjustment to your swing weight profile might do more to lower your trajectory than a head swap alone. The ball flight difference from when my 712MBs had a KBS Tour 130 vs Dynamic Gold 130 are significant and it's the same head. The ZX7 is pretty much a blade, like a T100. srxn just likes to have chunky top lines, while Titleist don't. You won't see massive difference in ability to "flight" it better. I actually hit my 712MB higher than I hit my T100 with similar shafts (AMT Tour White X100 vs DG X100). The ZX7 is also stronger lofted, so you might even see higher ball flights with the MBs... before pulling the trigger, you should get fit to optimize what you want. Just changing irons won't necessarily do what you intend it to if the shafts are working against you.
