The blend of these clubs, specifically with the project x red shaft has produced off the chart results that I am compelled to share.

For context, previous sets of irons were T-100’s, 2 versions of AP2’s and another older Titleist iron set. For over 20 years I have maintained a plus index handicap - not due to distance - but too accuracy and a solid short game. For all my previous iron sets, my 7 iron was my go to for fades and draws and the distance was between 150-160 yards based on the shot type. Literally, no change in distance over the 4 sets and custom shafts.

My new T-150 7 iron is my go to for a 192 yard fade and 198 yard draw.

I’m 57 years old and have truly found a fountain of youth. On hot days, these new clubs and shafts are 3 club lengths further than any model over the past 20 years. On cool days, they are 2 club lengths further. And all the while maintaining the same accuracy level.

My project for this fall is to seek a a driver that can do the same. If successful, I will no longer hide my ambition to play golf professionally (aspired at one point to qualify for Champions Tour events). However, if I find a driver config that works like these irons … the hell with the old guys, look out Sheffler cause a soon to be 58 year old is coming.

Thank you Titleist and Project X for enabling this fountain of youth.

New clubs in the bag.

Purchased an entire set of new clubs for the first time in 15 years. 4 wedges p-5 T-100 4 T-150 Driver gts3 and a 7 wood.

Driver finally came in yesterday.
Rushed to the course for commercial league, no warm up and first swing with the gts3 with the plastic still on and took home the long drive on that hole.

Last week I took home the kp on the par 3 with a hard to hold green on inter club night which is not my best part of my game.

Just curious if people could share what your turnaround time was or what they were told by their fitter? I got fitted on 8/4 and purchased the 150's. I was quoted 3-5 weeks.

Since you are looking for a used club, that limits your options. All Titleist authorized fitters only have the GTS fitting equipment. If you live near a major urban area, there may well be a retailer with access to a substantial used inventory. 2nd Swing is one example. Dick’s/Golf Galaxy never seem to have much used inventory.

Your other option would do an online chat with someplace like 2nd Swing where they ask questions about your swing, flight characteristics with your current driver and suggest some options. Assuming they have that model, loft, and shaft combo in stock. They usually offer full store credit if returned in 30 days and you can try option B next.

Good luck.

RE: New T-Series Turnaround Time?

i ordered t350 irons abd so far it has been 4 weeks still have not recived

RE: Driver Thoughts - 18 Handicap

David Ayres, my fitter knows my game better than me. Been on here a long time.

RE: Serial number T150s

Serial numbers are traditionally on the six iron.

Serial number T150s

How can I check if a set of clubs are legit. I don't know if they do that for all clubs or just custom orders. I did it a few times and they were very helpful and polite. I haven't done it for several years so not sure if they still do it but you can try.

A vintage hickory putter found at Goodwill

Any hickory club collectors out there? I picked up this gem for $3 at a Goodwill story in suburban Atlanta today. AI research tells me it's legit. H&B Powerbilt model 47 with Reg. 4780 on the sole. Shaft and grip appear to be original. AI says it's likely from the early 1930s. Curious what it's worth to a collector.
Thanks,
David Wilson

Last year I was fit into a GT2 9° with a Tensei 1K Black 75X cut down ½”. Since then, I’ve been taking lessons and making some significant swing changes, so it was time to see what fit me now.

I ended up in a GTS2 10° with a Project X Titan Black 60 6.5 at standard length. The biggest surprise wasn’t more distance—I was still in the 270–290 yard range, with a couple over 300. The biggest gains came from dispersion and getting my spin numbers into a much better window.

What really stood out was the fitting experience itself. Tom spent a lot of time changing weights, explaining how the different CG settings in the GTS2 affected launch, spin, and forgiveness, and why we ended up in the neutral A1 hosel setting compared to the A4 setting on my previous GT2. I left understanding why the changes worked, not just with a new club.

It was a great reminder that fittings aren’t always about chasing more distance. Sometimes it’s about finding the setup that gives you the most confidence and consistency. Looking forward to getting the new driver on the course
