i’m so excited I was finally able to sign up for an first ever all women’s event for Titleist at Streamsong in October!! and I just ordered myself a new Scotty Cameron putter!! can’t wait!! any other ladies in this discussion group going to the tournament???

Sure do! Sad truth is that most of us, particularly us older guys, have more in common with these ladies (from a physical capabilities standpoint) than today’s kind-of super human professional golfers. I particularly like to watch how they manage their footwork, weight shift, and swing to see how to incorporate it into my own game.

Some 20 years ago, I signed my wife up for lessons from former LPGA player Jenny Park-Choi. In less than a year of these lessons, my wife's game improved by a lot. I was so impressed that I also took lessons from Jenny. Then I had a lightbulb moment-since the distances of the LPGA players were much closer to my own than a PGA player, wouldn't it make more sense to study the LPGA players on tv? So I did and noticed that a few players could overpower a course with their distance, most of the others had to play a smarter game that focused on precision. I believe watching the LPGA has helped my game.

So, I'm curious. Are there any male golfers on Team Titleist that watch the LPGA to improve their own game and if so, how has doing this improved your playing?

I love the LPGA and take tips and advice from their players. Nelly Korda had great advice about tempo that helped me out. Her Dad had her say to herself Coca - Cola to establish the tempo of her swing. Coca on the way back and cola on the way through. I now use that every shot. In appreciation of the advice from Nelly, I say (think) Coca - Korda.

I totally agree with what everyone is saying. I watch LPGA events as much as possible. I really can’t relate to their distances either but they prove that tempo and proper fundamentals are the key to playing well. And playing from the proper tees. At 71 , I have moved forward one set of tees and it has made a huge difference in my scores and level of enjoyment.

I absolutely love and enjoy watching the LPGA and as everyone seems to agree, it is a great way to learn how to play golf.

At this time, your best choice is to order AVX with pink text on the ball.

Did research and Titleist did make "Velocity" pink balls in the past, have been discontinued but are available on eBay. Also available on that site are refurbished Titleist tour pink balls. Me, not a fan of eBay. I do not shop for golf products on that site. For you information only, not an endorsement.

Something worth considering, but at this point Titleist is only making white and yellow in their premium golf balls, most likely based on supply and demand. Cheers.

Hi,

Trying to work out which ball to use. Usually play Pro V1 as like the softer feel but probably should be playing pro v1x for the higher flight. Find the old Pro V1x quite hard. Haven’t tried to new ones as yet. Any thoughts?

I have played & been fitted with the ProV1x for many years now. I love the feel & flight of the ProV1x under normal conditions but I will switch to a ProV1 in very windy conditions because it will fly lower giving you more control.

I have been back and forth the past couple years and I have to pick the ProV1x. I need the height off the tee more than anything. The ProV1 feels amazing and seems to last longer with the wedges for me, but overall the ProV1x is always what I come back to. Just ordered custom ones with markings to help save some time before a round.

I used to be a Pro V1x player because I loved the higher ball flight, but lately it just feels too hard. Now it is Pro V1 every round, no excuses. It is pricey, sure, but it is simply the best golf ball in the game. No one else comes close.

I would look for a Titleist golf ball fitting in your area. I did one and was fitted into the X. The golf ball you hit during the fitting has chip in it that then goes to an iPad to produce matching ball percentage results

I was in the AVX which actually had a zero percent match.

That being said I went back to the AVX when the new one was released this year and am happy there. My short game is more tuned to it. Will be curious what they say when I get fitted again.

So happy to see this event and respect to Lisa and the others at Titleist for putting this event together.

I hope to be there. Always need to book closer to the event in case I get hired to present somewhere.

Streamsong is great. I really hope I get to be part of the fun.

Any amateur is over their head in determining what to get without professional advisement. There is the added issue for serious women golfers at retail to be steered over to the pastel colored sets and bags “for women”. One size fits all doesn’t work for men and no better for women. It is easy to start with driver, but maybe getting the right mix of hybrids and irons will be a better start.
Lisa and the other women staffers at Titleist can attest, Titleist can fit women with the current offerings. Just not with complete sets of pastel club and bag combinations. Find a Premier center and have them help you assess your biggest needs.
Started golfing as a senior aged golfer, I quickly learned that retailers tended to lead me to the senior sets as a starting point. Fortunately I live close to a Premier site and by accident found Titleist to have what would work, and offered all clubs and lofts in LH. Most companies don’t and that contributed to my loyalty

I’m about 2 years into the game. and I have a starter set of clubs. At what point did you upgrade your clubs? Should I get custom fitted even though I’m still new to golf?

Can’t wait to see the new titleist driver coming this May. Have the old TSi2 driver, 3 wood and hybrids and very keen to change these out. Hopefully will see some good improvements.
