New clubs.

Hello all,

I’m about 2 years into the game. and I have a starter set of clubs. At what point did you upgrade your clubs? Should I get custom fitted even though I’m still new to golf?

i’m so excited I was finally able to sign up for an first ever all women’s event for Titleist at Streamsong in October!! and I just ordered myself a new Scotty Cameron putter!! can’t wait!! any other ladies in this discussion group going to the tournament???

New titleist Driver

Can’t wait to see the new titleist driver coming this May. Have the old TSi2 driver, 3 wood and hybrids and very keen to change these out. Hopefully will see some good improvements.

Getting my High School/state qualifier fit this Monday for a new driver, hopefully they will have the new Titleist drivers to test also. Big fan of last years drivers

I know two young ladies that play for Wake Forest. I have known them since high school, and they were members at my club. They are absolutely awesome. They are great players, and work extremely hard.

I played this week at a local course near Fort Worth. There were a lot of ladies getting ready for a big qualifier happening this week as well. I have always been a fan of women's golf, I have always pushed and supported women's golf, I play with my wife and daughters a lot. I was playing from the blue tees, one up from the back tips, and had a decent round going. All of the ladies around us, in front of and behind us, were also hitting from the blue tees. It was so impressive to see that kind of power and precision up close while you're playing in the same round during the day. We spent the day getting a free front row seat to some amazing golf. It is one thing to be a spectator, it is quite another to essentially be playing as well.

Just a shout out to every lady and young lady out there playing. Thank you for making a great game even better by being here.

I got the opportunity to play Memorial Park just before The Chevron. There were a few women there getting a look at the course. I'm a pretty decent golfer and we played tees at 6400 yards with the event itself playing at 6800. Greens already on the slick side. Having played it and then watching Nelly lap the field, I wondered if I played the same course a week prior. These women are so good. My 4 over day likely looked like a 90 to them. Same sport, different league....

If the GTS is going straight in the bag for touring pros, I think they are definitely worth a look. I know some that is marketing push --- but going with these clubs straight into the bag, the pros must like what they are seeing.

I play TSR series right now, but I do like the look of the new GTS series --- I 'm definitely going to give them a run this Summer!

Taking lessons at a course, your pro can suggest if all or parts of your bag need replacement.

Likely not necessary to replace all of your bag at one time. You may need to adjust which hybrids and/irons need adjustment. I’d suggest putter last, so you can focus on your natural swing path without being distracted on which wedges or what driver loft will help you. One step at a time.

My suggestion is that instead of investing in custom fitting clubs right away, you give yourself some time to learn about what you can and can't do with the clubs that you have first.

Along with this thought, I would also suggest that you consider taking some lessons from a teaching professional to help you see the right and wrong way to ensure that you grip the club properly, set up to the ball square to the target and target line, execute your swing with correct sequencing of body motion, weight transfer, and follow-through ---- and as a part of that activity, develop an effective pre-shot routing to help with repeatability.

After you have that an understanding and familiarity with the fundamentals, you will know what to look for in a good fitter because you will have some understanding of what you need, and you will be able to better appreciate what is involved in the fitting process.

While moderated, Titleist employees generally don’t respond. As an end user I’m not responding with other than conjecture. The urethane covered balls have been developed to very tight quality standards. Adding a color is not a simple exercise Based on marketing by Titleist for potential market size and degree of difficulty., they may extend the AVX line. Just not any time soon.

Book a series of lessons or do a get into golf course, one lesson will help two will confuse !! Enjoy and don’t be intimidated we all started somewhere. Most haven’t improved that much!

I’ve only really gotten into golf over the last year. I’ve played baseball most of my life and now that I’ve been out of competitive sports for a while I have loved getting back into something I can learn to play. For me it was all about playing with the right people who were learning with me so I didn’t feel so bad about being terrible!

If you find a swing that works, don’t change it because others say it looks strange. Find what works for you.
