Had a blind tee shot wind was left to right. Hit a beautiful wedge shot and thought it was going to go in. I couldn’t see the green so I jumped up and down. I felt like I saw the ball disappear. I drove the cart uphill to to green. Didn’t see the ball on the green. Ran over to the hole and found it in there. The first on March 12th was on Hole 15, 144 yards from the white tee, where I used an #5 hybrid. The second on March 26th was on Hole 18, 112 yards from the white tee where I used a 9 iron. These were the first hole in ones that I have ever achieved in my life. My First Hole in One on March 12th I was playing 18 holes on March 12th with my golf partner Mike Hoffman. When we approached the 15th tee box at around 1:15 in the afternoon, I noticed that the 15th pin was directly behind the sand trap to the left of the green. I tee’d off with my 5 hybrid and aimed for the right side of the green to avoid the sand trap. It was a nice hit and once it was airborne, it started to hook to the left and landed on the green. As soon as it did it started to roll towards the pin. It kept rolling, and I commented to Mike, “Look! The ball is still rolling!”. Finally, it disappeared and I assumed it had rolled off the green to the left. As we approached the elevated green, I did not see my ball anywhere on the green and assumed that in fact, it had rolled down into the steep gulley on the left hand side. Mike and I proceeded to search for the ball in that area bit we could not find it. I commented, “I can’t believe that I have lost the ball on such a great drive!” Since we had another group waiting on the 15th tee box, we felt a little rushed to finish, so assuming my ball was now lost, I dropped another ball and chipped up to the green. Meanwhile, while I was doing this, Mike had putted onto the green and finished the hole by putting out. As he did so, he looked into the cup to retrieve his ball, and noticed that there was another ball in there. He said to me, “Did you play a srxn?” I responded, “Yes.” At that point Mike said, “You just hit a hole in one!”. I could not believe, and responded, “Holy Cow!!” This was the first hole in ones that I have ever achieved in my life!. Thank you Riverbend! The Second Hole in One - Two weeks later on March 26th I achieved a second hole in one two weeks after the first one on Riverbends’ Hole 18, 112 yards with a 9 Iron. The pin was at the front of the green. I hit a high shot heading straight for the pin, The ball bounced at the edge of the green and rolled towards the pin and we saw it drop in. My reaction was “I can’t believe this happened again!”. There are a lot of people here at Riverbend with handicaps that are half of mine, who have been playing golf for a lot longer and more frequently than I, who have never achieved a single hole in one. The fact that I have a high handicap and have achieved this two times in two weeks still amazes me. Thank you Titleist!

Forum Post: RE: What is your favorite golf ball

I've used the Pro V1X for years and years --- and I still am using that ball --- but as I've grown older, I have to admit that I find the TruFeel is maybe a better fit for my game.

Forum Post: RE: T250s - First true fitting

I get fit Tuesday with T250 6-GW oil can finish and 2 SM11 54* 60* oil can. In 2024 I found a TSR1 23 fairway that I dialed in with an x5ct 72g S set to 40.5". It also worked with a Diamana 70 and a Tensei 65R at 41". It actually got the same distance as my 910F 7 wood that I've kept since 2019. I traded it in last year (like a fool) because I got pretty confident with a TSi1 23 hybrid. Before I get to the next part ... history... when I broke 80 for the first time in 2013, had a Callie Steelhead 9 wood paired with a 910F 19 fairway. I've also played the Divine 9 and a couple TM. I went to a 910F 21 in 2014 or so and it, with a 910H 27, were a staple. The issue with Callies is the lie angle is a bit flat. After enough experimenting between 2017-2019 with 913F and 915F fairways, went back to 910F 21. 816H1 and it were a staple until 2024 (when I went to a TSR2 5 wood to cover the 9 wood gap). Now the "present"... my fitter did a tweak on a shaft that started on my GT-280 and now is on my 5 wood (the GT-280 hits better with an Aldila 55). He tipped it 3/4" and the length is 41.75 and now I smoke the TSR2 and it is pretty easy to work and it completely blew the GT2 21 fairway away. Also replaced the TSi1 23 with a TSR1 26 (with the proper shaft length of 39.5"). Needless to say, I saw a GT1 24 fairway that I saw in the used bin at Golf Mart. I had the intention of returning the GT2 7 wood so I jumped on the 9 wood. The stock 40g shaft came in at C7 swing weight. I just so happened to have a Motore 65R that I had used on the TSR2 18 and attempted (after cutting 1/2") on the GT2 21 (which had a Bassara E55R at the time of trade in; it also worked on the TSR2, which was a little more clean off the deck). The Motore shaft, with a 9g headweight aft and 5g headweight forward, was literally a "match made in heaven" on the 24* The GT1 24 is almost impossible to mis-hit and I'm using the A2 Surefit setting. It and the TSR2 18 fairway (at D3) are a formidable combo. My thumbnail doesn't show the 8 iron and 48-10F. Can't upload images because of a "rate exceeded" error. How many here play a 9 wood regularly? The ladies had it right for ages. A few on the LPGA (notably Morgan Pressel and Michelle Wie) have been using them. Gary Player praised 9 woods on "Playing Lessons From The Pros" about 15 years ago and stated he could have won the Masters a few more times had he had one in the bag. 50+ years ago Lee Trevino told golfers "Get Ya a 6 wood" and stated the same thing about winning more. For the record, I picked up a persimmon 6 wood about a year ago on eBay. It and the TSR1 23 fairway got the same distance.... lol. [/quote] I bought a GT1 9 wood and its my 155-160 club

Forum Post: First ever hole in one

Playing golf with my sons for first time this year and first time playing 18 holes with them as they just started playing. Mats seem to let me get away with slightly fat contact where the club just bounces into the ball and still produces a decent shot, but on the course those same swings turn into chunks or inconsistent strikes. I’ll leave the range feeling solid, then it doesn’t show up when it matters. Curious if anyone else in the Team Titleist community has dealt with this and what you’ve done to make mat practice more effective or better transition to real turf before a round?

Forum Post: RE: For Beginners

Do not do full swings until you develop consistent contact

Forum Post: Hole in one

Hole 11 on IBIS landing April 10th. 112 yards with a 9 iron, bounced once left of the hole and rolled to the right, right into the hole!

Forum Post: Left - availability...

Three of my favorite regular courses are finally regularly stocking Left Dash Pro V's . Friday April 10th at Cobram Barooga Golf Course, Old Course, 9th hole. Par 3, 133m from the white tees. As I walked onto the tee box I joked with the boys, “golf doesn’t get much easier than this hole.” Tee shot away… straight off the club I said, “that’s right at it.” We all watched it fly directly at the flag… no bounce… just the pure sound of the ball smashing the cup and flagpole before disappearing. A slam dunk hole in one. Four mates ahead of us on the 10th tee heard the noise, ran back to check… then the realisation hit. Mass jubilation. Absolute scenes. First ever hole in one at 40 years old.
