Q: How did the Pro V1x Left Dash originally come about?
A: Titleist R&D talks with the best players in the world every day and in doing so, we’re able to gather valuable feedback and a unique understanding of what they need most from their golf ball. The original Pro V1x Left Dash was developed as what we call a CPO or Custom Performance Option in response to an increasing trend of players looking to maximize distance off the tee while still maintaining the requisite control and stopping power into and around the greens to compete at an elite level.
Q: When was the Left Dash first introduced?
A: Left Dash first appeared on tour in March of 2018.
Q: When did it become available to the public?
A: When we started testing Left Dash with consumers, it quickly became clear that a lot of golfers out there are looking for very low spin while maintaining a high flight, and Left Dash fit that need perfectly as a complement to Pro V1 and Pro V1x. We began offering Left Dash to the public in October of 2019. Today, Left Dash is the first-choice recommendation in roughly 6-8% of fittings through Titleist’s proprietary Golf Ball Fitting App.
Q: How has Left Dash performed out on tour and in top amateur events?
A: Pro V1x Left Dash is trusted in competition on the PGA TOUR, DP World Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, JGTO, PGA Tour Australasia and PGA TOUR Champions, as well as in elite amateur events. In 2019, at Pinehurst No. 2, Left Dash was relied on to win the U.S. Amateur Championship and in 2024, on the same course, Left Dash was the choice of the U.S. Open champion.
