2021 LPGA TOUR Season Recap

Pro V1 loyalist Jin Young Ko's historic performance at last week’s CME Group Tour Championship – where she hit an a seemingly unfathomable 63 consecutive greens in regulation, with no player on any Tour having recorded a streak of 50-plus greens in regulation since 1995 – marked the 24th victory for Titleist golf ball players in 28 individual events played this season on the LPGA.

The Jutanugarn sisters – Ariya and Moriya – also won the LPGA’s team event (Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational), each playing Pro V1x.

In total, 87 percent of LPGA winners in 2021 played a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball – including major champions Nelly Korda (Pro V1), Patty Tavatanakit (Pro V1x), Yuka Sosa (Pro V1) and the AIG Women’s Open champ (Pro V1x).

Titleist was the winningest equipment brand from tee to green on the 2021 LPGA, with the majority of champions also choosing Titleist drivers, ironswedges and putters for their success:

  • Playing a Titleist TSi3 driver, the winner of the CME Group Tour Championship hit 51 of 56 fairways (91.8%), including all 14 in the final round, and averaged 260 yards off the tee, while claiming win No. 12 for Titleist drivers on the 2021 LPGA. That is more than double the nearest competitor’s win total (5). Of the 12 Titleist drivers that found the winner’s circle, 11 were TSi1TSi2 or TSi3 models.
  • With her victory at the Gainbridge LPGA in Feburary, Titleist Brand Ambassador Nelly Korda became the first player on a major professional tour to play and win with a TSi1 driver model. She won three more LPGA titles in 2021 with her TSi1 10.0° (Graphite Design Tour AD IZ 6), including the KPGA Women’s PGA Championship.
  • The winner of the AIG Women’s Open also used a TSi3 driver.
  • Titleist was the most played iron among winners on the LPGA, with all seven winners – including two major champions (Korda, AIG Women’s Open champ) – using T100 models.
  • Vokey Design SM8 wedges were in the bags of 18 winners, more than four times the nearest competitor with four, including three major champions (Korda, U.S. Women’s Open champ, AIG Women’s Open champ).
  • Scotty Cameron putters found the winner’s circle a total of 12 times, including the LPGA’s season finale, where the LPGA Player of the Year earned her fourth LPGA title and seventh top-6 finish in seven starts since switching from a competitive mallet model to a Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5.
  • In addition to her four LPGA wins, Nelly Korda also brought her Pro V1, TSi driver and fairways, T100 irons, Vokey Design SM8 wedges and Scotty Cameron putter to the top of the podium in Tokyo. The silver and bronze medal winners also had Vokey wedges in the bag, while the bronze winner played a Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash.
