Herman, Clanton, Suwannapura, Ventura and Chan Combine for Five Titleist Victories

This week, the winning ways continued for Titleist across the worldwide professional golf tours, as players trusting their games to Titleist golf balls and golf clubs added five more wins to the Titleist victory count.

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS

Jim Herman (Pro V1) followed up a third round 62 with a 2-under-par 70 to capture his second career PGA TOUR title at the Barbasol Championship.

• In a new partners event on the LPGA Tour, the Pro V1x team of Jasmine Suwannapura and Cydeny Clanton won in dominant fashion, capturing the inaugural DOW Great Lakes Bay Invitational by six strokes.

• On the Korn Ferry Tour, Kristoffer Ventura (Pro V1) won his second title in three weeks, entering the winner's circle at the Pinnacle Bank Championship.

• And in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Lorens Chan (Pro V1) captured his maiden victory on the PGA Mackenzie Tour Canada, winning the HFX Pro-Am by one shot.

All told, players trusting their games to a Titleist golf ball have now collected 117 wins across the worldwide professional tours. That's more than five times the nearest competing brand with just 21 and more than all competing brands combined.

Jim Herman (Pro V1) captured his second career PGA TOUR victory on Sunday, winning the Barbasol Championship by one shot. Herman closed with a 2-under par 70 in the rain-delayed final round en route to a 26-under 262 victory total.

He took a one-shot lead into the final round following a 10-under-par 62 on Saturday.

The win is the 20th for Titleist golf ball players on the 2018-19 PGA TOUR, more than three times the nearest competitor (6) and as many as all other golf balls combined.

Titleist was the most popular golf ball choice among players at the Barbasol Championship, with 77% of the 132-man field (102 players) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than four times the nearest competitor with 9% (12 players) and more than all other competitor brand golf balls combined.

Titleist was also the field favorite in drivers (36), fairway metals (44), utility irons (27), irons (39) wedges (279) and putters (50).

The team of Thidapa “Jasmine” Suwannapura (Pro V1x) and Cydney Clanton (Pro V1x) won the inaugural Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational in dominant fashion.

Cydney Clanton tees off with her Titleist TS driver at the DOW Great Lakes Bay InvitationalThe pair began the final round at Midland Country Club in Midland, Mich., five shots ahead Ariya (Pro V1x) and Moriya (Pro V1x) Jutanugarn, and fired an 11-under-par 59 in the better-ball format to win by six.

Clanton did win the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout in April for her second Symetra Tour title.

This is the 14th event won by Titleist players on the 2019 LPGA Tour, 11 more than the nearest competitor with 3.

Titleist was the overwhelming field favorite in golf balls at the Marathon Classic with 81% of the field of 142 (119 players) relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, 17 times the nearest competitor with 5% (7 players).

Kristoffer Ventura (Pro V1) won for the second time in three weeks, capturing the Pinnacle Bank Championship by two shots.

Ventura closed with a one-under-par 70 en route to a 16-under 268 victory total.

Ventura won the Utah Championship in an all-Titleist Pro V1 sudden death playoff for his first career Korn Ferry Tour title at the end of June.

The win is the 16th for Titleist golf ball players on the 2019 Korn Ferry Tour, more than five times the nearest competitor with 3.

Ventura topped a leaderboard that included 12 of the 15 players who finished among the top 10 and ties.

He also officially secured his position on next season’s PGA TOUR via the Korn Ferry Tour’s point standings with his second win. The top 25 at the end of the regular season three weeks from now earn their tour cards.

Titleist was the most relied-upon golf ball in the field of 156 with 72% (113 players) relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than seven times the nearest competitor with 10% (16 players).

Titleist was also the top choice in the driver (52), hybrid (37), utility iron (47), iron (58), wedge (255) and putter (59) categories.

Lorens Chan (Pro V1) fired four rounds in the 60s (66-63-68-67), to post a 24-under 264 total and earn his first professional win at the HFX Pro-Am.

Chan, who entered the final round with a 1-shot lead, drained a 40-foot eagle on the first hole on Sunday and never looked back. The 25-year-old Honolulu native ultimately won by two shots and now climbs to No. 3 on the Mackenzie Tour Order of Merit.

The 25-year old managed to avoid looking at leaderboards throughout the entire round. It wasn’t until he asked his mom, Linda, who has also doubled as his caddie this season, what his status was on the final hole.
