Kang, Austin, Imahira and Mulroy Lead Five-Win Week for TItleist Golf Ball Players

Across the worldwide professional golf tours, the winning momentum continued for Titleist golf ball players this week, with commanding performances and late charges that resulted in five victories on three different continents.

All told, Titleist golf ball players have now accumulated 188 wins around the world this season. That's more than five times more wins than the nearest competing brand with just 32 and more than all competing brands combined.

Let’s take a look at this past week’s Titleist tour highlights…

The PGA TOUR concluded the final leg of its early-season, two-event swing through Asia with a convincing win at the CJ Cup by the reigning PGA TOUR Player of the Year. The 2018 U.S. Open and PGA Championship victor relied on a Pro V1x golf ball to fire a final-round 8-under-par 64 at The Club at Nine Bridges en route to a 21-under 267 victory total. He finished by converting a 25-foot eagle putt to shoot 29 on the back nine and win by four shots.

The win marks the 12th worldwide victory for the champion, 11 of which he has captured playing a Titleist golf ball. The victory also vaulted the winner to the No. 1 position in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Ryan Palmer (Pro V1x) birdied his last seven holes to shoot a course-record final round 10-under-par 62. He advanced 14 positions on the leaderboard Sunday to finish in a tie for 3rd place with Titleist Brand Ambassador Rafa Cabrera Bello (Pro V1x, TS3/9.5° driver, 915F/15°,18° fairway metals, 718 MB/3-9 irons, Vokey Design SM7 pitching/48.08F, sand/54.08M and lob/60.04L wedges, Scotty Cameron SC-350 putter.)

Nine of the 13 players who finished among the top 10 and ties relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

 Titleist was once again the overwhelming golf ball of choice among players with 74% of the CJ Cup field (58 players in the limited field of 78) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than seven times the nearest competitor with 10% (8 players) and more than all competitors combined.

Titleist was also the top choice in hybrids (15) and irons, with 25 sets in play. Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (119) category and Scotty Cameron putters were the choice of more players than any other brand with 35 in play.

Danielle Kang (Pro V1x) earned her second career LPGA Tour title after capturing the Buick LPGA Shanghai by two strokes. She started the final round one shot off the lead before closing with a 3-under-par 69.

Seven players tied for 2nd, including Brittany Altomare (Pro V1), Ariya Jutanugarn(Pro V1x) Sei Young Kim (Pro V1), Annie Park (Pro V1) and an amateur competitor (Pro V1x).

 The win was the 22nd of the season for Titleist players on the 2018 LPGA Tour, more than five times the nearest competitor with 4.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the Buick LPGA Shanghai with 82% of the field (66 players in the field of 81) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than nine times the nearest competitor with 9% (7 players).

Woody Austin (Pro V1x) earned his fourth career title on the PGA TOUR Champions, capturing the Dominion Energy Charity Classic by one shot. The event was the first of the three-tournament Charles Schwab Cup playoffs.

Four of the top five finishers relied upon Titleist for their success, including runner-up Bernhard Langer (Pro V1).

 Austin's win marks the 19th for Titleist golf ball players on the 2018 PGA TOUR Champions, nearly four times the nearest competitor with 5.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic with 77% of the field (49 players in the limited field of 64) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than six times the nearest competitor with 13% (8 players).

Shugo Imahira (Pro V1x) fired a final-round 5-under-par 66 to claim the Japan Tour's Bridgestone Open. Imahira finished with a 16-under 268 total, one shot clear of Titleist Brand Ambassador Masahiro Kawamura (Pro V1 golf ball, TS3/8.5° driver, TS2/13.5° and 18° fairway metals, 818 H2/23° hybrid, 718 AP2 [5-PW] irons, Vokey Design SM7 50.12 F-grind pitching, 54.10 S-grind and prototype 59.04 L-grind wedges, Scotty Cameron TCX 02 putter).

 The win marks the second career JGTO title for the 25-year-old.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the Bridgestone Open with 51 players in the field of 102 trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than twice the nearest competitor with 24.

And finally, on the South African Sunshine Tour, Garth Mulroy (Pro V1) birdied two of the last three holes to win the Vodacom Origins of Golf - Parys event, topping Fredrik From (Pro V1) and Chris Cannon (Pro V1) by one shot.

Keith Horne (Pro V1x) finished solo fourth as each of the top four finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

 Titleist golf ball players have now won 16 events in South Africa this year, more than five times the nearest competitor with 3.

Titleist was the most relied upon golf ball at the event with 81% of the field (107 of 132 players) relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than six times the nearest competitor with 17% ( 23 players).
