The Players' Choice at the 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions

We've turned the page on a new golf season and on the PGA TOUR, they're ringing in the New Year in Maui, with the most exclusive tournament on the schedule, the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Only winners from the 2017-2018 campaign are invited to this annual kick-off at the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort. For the 33 players in the elite field, it's a taste of paradise, but also a chance to earn some early bragging rights and to get a leg up on the competition in the 2019 FedExCup Race.

Titleist is once again the overwhelming golf ball of choice among players at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, with 18 players in the limited field trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success, more than four times the nearest competitor with 4.

Of the 18 players relying on a Titleist golf ball at Kapalua this week, two have transitioned into the New 2019 Pro V1 and five have made the switch to the New 2019 Pro V1x. In fact, the new 2019 Pro V1x is the most-trusted golf ball model in the field this week.

The new 2019 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls debuted on the PGA TOUR in November, at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Players have transitioned swiftly into both models and have already won with new generation Pro V1 and Pro V1x six times across the worldwide professional golf tours. Most recently, Cameron Smith became the first player to win on the European Tour with the new 2019 Pro V1x golf ball and Charles Howell III captured the final official event of the 2018 PGA TOUR season, relying on the new 2019 Pro V1 golf ball in his victory at the RSM Classic at Sea Island.

This week at Kapalua, Titleist was also the top choice in the driver (T1-9) and fairway metal (12) categories at The Sentry Tournament of Champions. Of the nine players gaming a Titleist driver, eight have a TS2 or TS3 model in the bag. Among the twelve Titleist fairway metals in play this week, four are TS2 models and three are TS3's.

Titleist also prevailed in the hybrid (7) and irons (8) categories. Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (47) category.
