    Unfortunately in Ontario golf season is almost over. Played on Saturday in +9 conditions. It rained both water and ice pellets and then the sky's opened up and it was a great late fall golf day. Throw in a string of pars, a birdie, it was a good day. Does anyone else start to go through "golf withdrawal" this time of the year?

    You bet....  I go almost directly from Golfing Season to Pouting Season :(

    Oh yes...major withdrawal here. I don't like the cold, snow or the short days. C'mon spring!

    I am not a fan of the fall golf. I love spring golf because its the sign of warm weather. My clubs and shoes are cleaned and put away.

    Never give up!!

    We had a nice day here in the Montreal area earlier this week, so a buddy and I went off to play a round.  I carded a new Personal Best, 74.  The greens were spiked so long ago that they are actually starting to roll true again :)  But I realize the days are numbered... maybe one or two more rounds, if mother nature is kind.

    Congratulations Kevin...  Always nice to hit a personal best !

    Can you put your finger on what contributed to the great score?  Was it the slower greens forcing you to putt a little harder at the hole? Was it the fact that it was the end of the year so you played without the stress of trying to score well? or - Was it simply one of those days where everything works and you only wish you could repeat ?    

    Hope you get in another round or two, but if you don't, at least you finished on high note :)

    Great question, Darius.

    I didn't hit the ball overly long, and there wasn't that much roll in the fairways, but the course itself isn't exceedingly long either.  Driving stats were pretty much average in terms of distance and accuracy.  By and large, I think it was one of those days where my misses never really left me in big trouble, and just about everything was just a little better than average.  The brightest spot was my short game.  I was 66% in scrambling (season average is 24%), which in part contributed to having only 27 putts (season average is between 32 and 33).  And I hit two more greens than my average.
