Wow - time for The Open at Royal Port Rush ! I so look forward to The Open as it is typically a completely different game than what we see on North American golf courses. Golf played in it's basic form and most often in the elements being either the wind or rain or both. This year I have to admit that although I don't hold out a lot of hope, I am rooting for Rory. For him to win this would be very much the same as when we were all collectively rooting for Mike Weir at the Canadian Open when he was going stroke for stroke with VJay for the win. I can only imagine the pressure he will feel out there ! Regardless of who wins, I am sure The Open will be great to watch.

    Lethbridge,

Pulling for Rory or G Mac. Can you imagine the party if G Mac wins having grown up on that course and his brother on the grounds crew. I think the world's supply of Guiness would be used up in a week.

That's a ton of pressure for Rory and G Mac to have... if they make the cut, then maybe some of the pressure will be relieved, but hard to say. Koepka and his focus on Major Titles makes for a real threat IMHO.
  4. Looking forward to watching the Canadians this week in The Open!!! Always an exiting event, really puts the players to the test.

    I am rooting for Gmac.
The story would be simply unbelievable.

Rory would also be awesome but I don’t have a great feeling about him winning.

Sad start and finish for Rory. Gmac was doing well until the finish but he is still in it.
Rory will likely need one of those 61's if he wants any chance at it. Ever the optimist, but it is hard to stay positive. I do give Rory credit for being a good sportsman and sticking around for an interview after his round. We can all have good rounds and bad rounds, but our demeanour and behaviour after the round is really what defines the type of person you are.
