I just got my new irons and for the first time I am playing larger grips. I have the MCC +4 on all my irons, and I like the results I am getting. My question is for those fitters or those players that play the larger grips, should I be putting the same grip on driver, woods, wedges?

I have been playing midsize MCC grips for years. I was playing them on all clubs (except putter), but a few years ago, I decided regular grips on my woods and driver gave me a touch more swing speed with a little less pressure from my hands. So now I play regular MCCs with an extra tape wrap on driver, 3W and hybrid, while playing midsize for the rest. Works for me.

My take on it is that it would be personal preference for your feel. I personally like all mine to be the same exact grip, size, style, brand for a more consistent feel. I use an GP tour velvet undersize grip which is not available in the 360 model so i just stretch those out when re-gripping the driver & fairway woods so i dont have the logo moving around when adjusting the clubs. The irons and wedges are all the same.

Absolutely....... For consistency and feel, I use the same MCC +4 grip on all my clubs (Driver, Fairway, Hybrid, Irons, Wedges).....

Might try the Tour SNSR 104CC GolfPride Putter Grip.......

I use Golf Pride Tour velvet midsize on irons and rescue clubs. The MCC +4 align on driver and fairway wood. My thinking is the MCC helps with alignment and accuracy on the clubs that go the farthest where a bad alignment incurs the greatest penalty.

I have the MCC+4 Align Grips now in my 718s and they are fantastic. My wedges are ready to be replaced and I still have the regular MCC +4 in those. Not sure if I'll put the Align in those since I do open my face. At least on the 60*. Just not sure yet.

I made the move to midsize grips a couple of years ago. Initially it was just the irons, but as I kept using them, I had them put on all my clubs (except the putter.) Don't want to go back!
  8. I've been playing the MCC+4 midsize grips on all my clubs. Personal preference, makes me have less grip pressure. Everyone has a different feel, so go what works for you.

I switched to those last year and put them on all of my clubs. I found it helped to have the same feel through the bag.

I really like the Lamkin Crossline grip. The older ones with the cursive writing. When they switched to the block letters instead of cursive I bought 200 of the old ones so I would always have them. It is funny how we get set in our ways and change almost becomes a bad word.
  11. I personally use midsize with 2 wraps on all my clubs. However, it is all about what feels right when you are playing. I know some guys who have different sizes on their woods and their wedges. It's all personal preference!
