Interesting that your fitter gave you a recommendation based on their experience and your actual swing and now you want a bunch of us daily hackers to weigh in. I love my fellow TT members but I trust my fitter and my own experience to build the set of clubs I play. No offense intended.

Ha ha! Yep, my point being you will find some people here that like and play CB irons and others that swear by T100. Neither of those people will be wrong. It was the fit specifically for them based on what they like and need. If 50 people here tell you that T100 performed better for them than the 718CB and only 5 say the CB was best for them, it has no relevance to which one works for you. Wishing you the best and hopefully many great rounds with whichever one you pick.

The screw in shaft is only used for fitting clubs. Final assembly is the same as in 718.

The CB would still fit in between the T100 and the MB. Can’t change much on a fully forged club, sot the 620 CB is one generation after the 718 CB. The Gen 3 T100 (2023) has been enhanced 3 times since the 718 AP2. Gen 4 might be released this fall, if the release cycle is maintained. The T100 will be more forgiving with the tungsten weighting and the CB will have a more forged feel. The T100 being a multipart forged head to add the tungsten.

I have played the cbs for the last 10 years. I have tried the T100 and did not find them any more forgiving than the cbs.

I just switched from a 712 CB/MB combo set and I would say my T100 (gen 2) go about 5 yards longer.
They actually look like they have a thinner topline, even though they don't. I do feel like miss hits aren't quite as penal but It's pretty minimal (Definitely noticeable in the 7-9 as those are MBs). I will say that I am hitting the ball better and I did hole out from 150something downwind with my 9 iron. First time I ever holed it outside of like 75yds. I would say I'm carrying my 4 iron 205-210, and my CB was like 200-205.
And the other day with my T100 in the bag I drove a green over water on a 325yd par 4 and it rolled with in inches past the hole and had about 12ft for eagle, which I lipped out... So the T100 is definitely staying in the bag because of that. =p

*Shafts are AMT Tour White X100 in the 712, and DG X100 soft stepped in the T100 with DG 120 X100 in the 4 iron.

The only one that can tell you which is more forgiving is Iron Byron and he can't talk, technically. From a scratch players perspective, the COG is lower in the CB, so you'll (if anything like me) hit them crazy high with a decent path/angle. I was at 30-40' higher elevation with the CB's/MB's, so I gave them up. Should have switched earlier, to be honest. If you're anywhere that's windy at all, the CB may not the club of choice, even with the lower trajectory Prov1. Not sure your level of play, find a teacher and a fitter, establish confidence and trust, stick with them.

Like Dale said, trust the fitter, BUT, from experience, fitters are salesmen, be careful. Regardless of which team they are on, they're trying to sell clubs. We have 3 TT in my area, I'll only go to 2, preference to 1. And I'll wait for him. Be picky, clubs are expensive! Good Luck!

I played the CB's (735PM's to start) for years - all through all of the AP versions. Never liked the AP's. I tried them every generation they came out. Didn't like the feel, they floated high on me, and ugly top line, so I kept the CB's. When the T100's came out, it all changed. Great feel, a bit more length, and some more forgiveness. I've had all generations of them. Love the club. If your fitter recommended them and you don't have anything against them, go with them, you won't want the CB's back. There is a reason they are the #1 tour iron, beating out the CB and MB's by a pretty big margin. My .02
