Looking to trim down a Tensei 1K blue to use in my 5 wood. It came from Titleist with “standard tipping,” so I’m wondering what additional tipping if any I’d need to do to use this in a 5 wood. Mitsubishi recommends .75” for a 5 wood. Thanks!

While we appreciate that you would come to us for expert club building advise, most of us are still trying to figure the difference between our total score and our total IQ, and which one we want high or low every week.
If you do it yourself, you need to contact Titleist and determine what they consider "standard tipping." If they cut it, you need to know how much they took off just to get to a starting point. Other than that, the only way to be sure is compare it to an uncut new shaft.

Mitsubishi's recommendations for driver are untipped. So if in fact Titleist followed Mitsubishi's recommended tipping instructions then, yes, you would cut three quarters of an inch off the tip, then butt trim to desired length after installing the shaft on the head. Standard would be 42.0"

Drivers and fairways use different hosel adapters. What did Mitsubishi recommend for the driver? Titleist generally follows the shaft recommendation.
