I was playing in the local Builder’s Association golf outing that I was invited to last minute last Thursday that included 224 players. We get to the 13th hole of a very slow round — a par 3, 114 yards, downhill, and slightly down wind. It was playing a little less than 110 yards. I hit my Titleist ProV1x with my 54 degree wedge 15 feet behind and left of the hole. I lean to the right, as any hopeful would, trying to will my ball closer and closer to the hole. All of a sudden, it drops! I turn around and high five my playing partners yelling as everyone does. We could see 5 other groups from our tee, and one person yells out “DID YOU HOLE IT?!” I fist pumped in the air like Tiger at the Phoenix Open and thought to myself, “I sure did!”
