I returned from a week-long trip to Scotland with a cold, but I wanted to defend my title as women's Super Senior champion at Wilmington Country Club. I was striking my Titleist driver, hybrids and irons great on the day of the event. On No. 7 (124-yard par 3) of our North course, I hit a 23-degree hybrid as pure as possible. My playing partners were both in bunkers. When I walked up to the green, my ball wasn't in sight. I looked past the green to see if it had bounced into the rough. Not there. So I looked in the cup, and there it was! I said, "Hey, my ball is in the hole!" And my partners were confused -- and busy with raking. When they realized I had an ace, we took a photo. I finished the round, and won the tournament too. A great day on the golf course.
