I did the TSR fitting on August 22nd. The current gamer is a TSI3. Like all fittings I have had with with Titleist before, this one was a lot of fun and easy to go through.

The TSR3 looks identical to the TSI3. The TSR2 looks even better than the TSI2 in that they made the head a little more player or pear shaped and cleaned up some of the lines.

To start we took the TSR3 head and put it on my existing shaft. From the start the ball speed jumped. Ball speed on the TSI was high 150's. Going to the TSR ball speed jumped into the low 160s. My miss hit (heal cut) was out at 161/162 ball speed. The TSR launched higher, sounded great and performed better than I first thought.

Once we got the data we moved to the TSR2. Again ball speed went up even more to mid 160s with miss hit going low/mid 160's. Launch was consistent and spin fell just enough to the 2400 - 2600 RPM. I picked up 6mph in ball speed in the TSR2, came out of the window that I like and gave a predictable miss. Confidence boost for sure knowing what the miss is.

It was looking like the TSR2 was the ticket but we did for grins need to try the TSR4. I hit 3 balls with TSR4 all with in about 5 feet from each other. Flat out rocket, hit it farther then the 2 and 3 but the TSR4 was not for me. The TSR4 is for the golfer who has too much spin. My RPM for the 4 was 1400, way to little to have control with.

I ended up ordering the TSR2 in 10 degrees in the A2 setting with an additional 4 grams in the back. I also got the updated Tensei Blue shaft 65x.

I did hdthe Ventus Blue, it performed as well as the Tensei Blue I had in my TSI3 but nothing earn't hit the fairway woods we the first few with my gamer couldn't be beat with the TSR, meaning I wasn't going to gain enough in performance to justify the cost at this time. Later on down the line I will probably go with a nas 5 wood as I hit that more thwas on par with the Ben, my fitter at the event and to all of the Titleist staff. This new driver blew me away.

The leap from TS to TSi was subtle but the leap from TSi to TSR is nnice
  3. I was using a TM Sim 10.5 and had tried turning it down to a 9 with mixed results. I decided to try the 9* TSR3 with my existing Ventus Blue Velocore 6-S shaft and the result is amazing to me. This driver has the best feel of any driver I have hit and I am hitting my second shots from places (good) I have not been this year. I am hitting the TSR3 easily 10 yards and probably 15+ yards farther than before. I have been able to reach all but one of our par 5s this year and thanks to the new driver have now hit that one aIso. I have TSi fairway and hybrids, looking to work the TSR3 into the budget.

I was very similarly being basically a TM person for the last few years but just didn't like their latest offerings. I tried the TSR3 with my gamer shaft and it was fantastic. Incredibly more accurate and getting about 5 to 10 yards more as well. The TSR3 just gives me the confidence to hit the shot I want to hit. Will be adding the fairway wood soon.
  5. Seems like this new product provided me a higher launch and much more carry and overall distance. The only problem is I am now spoiled till I get this driver in my hands for good.

I attended a fitting last Friday, I really like the new TSr driver. I'd taken a lot lessons this year and so my swing has changed quite a bit since I was fit for my TSi2. When looking at the new TSr2, the head seemed to be a little smaller and the weighting the club head is distributed a little differently. The sound coming off the center of the club face was really sweet and different than from the TSi2. Mishits did not venture too far off line and I picked up quite a bit of distance. I went from an 11 degree TSi2 to a 9 degree TSr2, This help bring down my peak height and gave me a less steep descent angle. I saw distance gains of 15-20 yards. Instant purchase!
  7. The TSR fitting went great. Jim Pooler is a master fitter and I enjoyed every minute of it. Jim fit me in my TSI3 previously and I was excited to work with him again. He fit me in the TRS3 11 degree and I pickup 3 mph on my ball speed (more yards for me) and a little higher trajectory which I was looking for. My wife is ordering me the TSR3 for Christmas, can’t wait. I did not walk away empty handed Jim had me try the TSR 21 degree and I bought it in the spot, love the club. The feel and look of the new TSR’s is why I have been swing Titleist for 30 years. Great job Titleist and I very much enjoy being a part of Team Titleist .

Great fitting experience at Pelican Hill, as are all Team Titleist fittings.
My current TSI 3 preforms awesome for me!! Throughout the fitting tried all the new R product 2,3and,4. The TSR3 was by far the the right fit. It hit on all the numbers, gained ball speed, which added 10-15 yards of carry. Spin numbers and launch were right on for my swing speed.
Working with Jon Worrall was a fun experience great fitter very knowledgeable.
Always a pleasure to work with Team Titleist. Excited to put my new TSR3 in the bag!!

I had the opportunity to try the TSR metal family last week. They do not disappoint.

Driver - coming from the TSi3, I hit both the TSR2 and TSR3. I sought out the TSR2 thinking it would afford more forgiveness. It does, but I was in the TSi3 to help with spin, and I quickly found the TSR3 was a better fit to combat my spin numbers. It is worth calling out that the TSR3 has borrowed some of the forgiveness found previously in the TSi2 and now TSR2. Visually the TSR3 is what you would expect, it has a more traditional Titleist pear shape. The TSR2 remains a bigger footprint, but the design masks the size. Unless held side-by-side the size differences are not that noticeable behind the ball. I have an aggressive transition and more downward angle of attack than considered ideal. This said, and with the right shaft, I was having no issue getting the ball up in the air while maintain solid spin numbers. Mishits were noticeably better with the TSR3 (longer and with less spin). TSR4 is/will be amazing, but a bit too punishing on mishits for my game.

Fairway woods - like the driver I hit both the TSR2 and TSR3. The forgiveness of the TSR2 and launch made it the clear winner for my game. Compared to my gamer (png 425 Max), I was able to add loft while improving launch, ball speed and distance.

While both are impressive, I was most surprised by the performance of the new fairway woods. As named, these are clubs that are refined but the resulting performance is noteworthy.

Allan, thank you for starting this thread. I am so excited to read fellow Team Titleist members experiences with the new clubs. As a Team Titleist ambassador, I was thrilled and appreciative to receive an email invitation to a special TSR fitting event. The hype of these clubs have been building all summer and I was super anxious to demo these clubs!
-I cannot adequately express how wonderful my experience was. First, I was blown away by the warm welcome I received by Thomas Blumenthal and Andy Inman. They were so kind and nice. They gave me a great deal of their time, attention and never once made me feel rushed. I wish they were my everyday golf buddies because I could spend all day listening to them. I was sincerely impressed with their experience and knowledge in Titleist, their history and club fitting.
-I showed up a bit early and they welcomed me to hit balls and warm up at my own pace. As I was warming up going through my bag, Tom was watching and gathering some information about my swing and the clubs I have in my bag. He asked some really great questions to get to know me, my golfing abilities, tendencies and what I was looking to improve upon. When I was ready to go, I got on the trackman and started hitting balls with my TSI2 driver to get a baseline. After a bunch of good ones, he handed me the TSR2 with the same shaft I had in my previous club. I liked the updated look of the new 2. It immediately noticed that it wasn’t as elongated in the back of the club. I also thought TSR2 felt and sounded better. It was also super forgiving. Wherever I hit it on the club face, it just went and I didn’t notice a big loss in distance. After trying the 2 for a while with a bunch of different shafts, I then moved on to the TSR3. I absolutely loved the pear shaped profile of the 3. It reminded me of some of the classic Titleist drivers of years passed that I played growing up. Just looking down at this club, I fell in love immediately. I was kinda hoping that this one would provide me the best results because I just loved the look of it. Sure enough, it did. This driver really helped keep my spin numbers down more then the 2. With the sure fit settings, moveable weight and Ventus black shaft (yeah I went for it lol), we were really able to dial it in and optimize the ball flight I was looking for. Picked up some ball speed from my previous gamer. I also got to hit the TSR4 as well. Although I really liked the look of the slightly smaller head, it just spun and launched a little too low for me. I have no doubt that others will hit bombs with it though. I hit ALOT of drives with all 3 heads and many various shaft combinations. I had the full fitting cart at my disposal and I sure went through it. Again, Tom was amazing and so eager to make sure that I was making the right decision with the best combo we could put together, getting the best results. He made a sincere effort to work with me as a team to make sure that I was comfortable, happy and saw results. TSR3 was my winner.
-After we were done with the driver, we moved on to the fairway metals. Again, started with my TSI2 gamers to get a baseline of my numbers. We then switched to the new TSR2 heads. Again, love at first sight. Looking down I saw a profile that I preferred that gave me confidence. Also love the new full face scoring lines btw. I started with the 15* and I hit the first ball absolutely flush. The ball just jumped off the face and launched super high. Everyone there laughed at me because I said “ohhh baby” when I flushed that first shot. It just felt perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Hit a couple more exactly the same. I was impressed by how consistent the numbers were. I then moved on to the 18* and it was more of the same. Loved the look and feel. Again, balls just pop off the face super high. With both fairways, I noticed a marked improvement in the clubs ability to get the ball in the air easier then the TSI2. I am adding these 2 fairways as well and can’t wait to attack some par 5’s with them asap. Being that I loved the fairways so much, I was slightly disappointed that there is no 21* 7 wood for us lefties. Maybe the demand is not there, but I would have bought one as well. I hope that gets addressed in the future. I won’t talk about the technology that I learned about these clubs. I’ll let Titleist do that upon their official release.
-Once again, I cannot thank everyone at Titleist enough…Especially Tom and Andy!! On this day, you treated me and made me feel like a tour pro. I have never felt more proud and honored to be a part of Team Titleist!!! Thank you, David

Good to see the reviews from the average golfer as opposed to the Tour Pro, let's face it, can hit any golf club made and hit it well. Will there be a TSR1 Driver and Fairways?

I had a Team Titleist fitting session at the New Castle GC in WA last week Wednesday. Big shout out to Alan Stone, who led my fitting session and helped me on questions I had on the updates on TSR driver/fairway.

I started with the session with getting baseline numbers with my current TSi3 driver with Tensei 1K Pro White 65x. Then we moved in to the new TSR3 same 10 degree head with my own shaft. Swing speed remained the same, but the ball speed increased by about 4 mph and also gained about 12/13 yards. Definitely, the lower spin (from 2500 to 2200) was giving me a bit more carry distance with TSR3. The next process was to find the stock/exotic shafts that were available in the fitting event to see if there's any better option over to my current gamer. Tensei 1K Black was pretty close, but the feel and numbers weren't any better than my gamer. Lastly for drivers, I tested TSR4 and amazingly I was producing better numbers due to the even lower spins (2000ish) and 1 mph faster ball speed over TSR3. But I felt like TSR3 was more versatile in my game, so I ordered TSR3 with Tensei 1K Black 65x.

I also tested TSR3 fairway woods for upgrading from my current TS3 (15 degree) with Ventus Blue 6x (my driver shaft before Tensei 1k white, that cut to play 3 wood). Similar process with Driver fitting, how ever I wasn't looking much distances, but the forgiveness and trajectory. I ended up with TSR3 16.5 with Tensei 1K Black and playing at D1 setting.

Overall, the fitting experience was really great and I think the new products took a big improvement without sacrificing the traditional look that I always love about!!

I'm in a slightly different situation than those above on the fittings. I was invited to a private fititng for all Titleist Staff Members and select Amabassdors in my area. However, as my luck would have it the date fell on the same day as I was scheduled for eye surgery. Being the great company they are Titleist didn't want me to have to wait down the line to get fit and wanted me to get the clubs in hand as soon as possible.

So, we happen to have one of the best Sales Reps in the business for our Territory and I have access to all my swing data from having trackman where I work. As a result between us we put together what I figured would be the best combination for me. Eric assured me if once the clubs are in hand if it needs tweaking down the line, once I'm fully recovered we will make the changes.

So as a result of our work together, I ended up with a TSR 2 PX HZRDUS Red CB 6.0 50G and PX HZRDUS Red CB Red 5.5 60g

Both arrived this week and here are some pics of them from my Instagram Account.

As for early resutls, Ihave picked up gains from my TSi2 as following:
    CHS increase of 2 mph
Ball Speed increase of 6 to 8 mph
Carry distance increase of 12 to 18 yards
Total distance increase of 16 to 25 yards

Needless to say, the Titleist has nailed the performance increase in these over the TSi which was really good in of itself.

Great fitting experience at Riverpines GC, GA, with fitting specialist Adam O! I was lucky because Adam had fitted me at my home course several times. This led to a speeder fitting process for the TSR3 driver. I gained more height which equals more carry distance (vital for us dew sweepers). With the rear weight and hosel adapter settings, I could get my preferred baby fade without changing my swing.
Working with Adam was terrific; he is an excellent fitter and very knowledgeable.
Always a pleasure to work with Team Titleist; being invited to a private fitting makes you feel special. I'm excited to put my new TSR3 driver in the bag when it arrives around 9/7/22 (nice to see Titleist shipping times back to normal).

Going to have surgery on our fitting day but met with the Titleist rep today. I wanted to order the TSR3 but after speaking to him I went with TSR2 for the driver, 3 wood and 5 wood; same shaft I use now in my TSI3 driver and 3 wood. He showed how the TSR2 has become more balanced and smaller. He said spin and distance were equal and the TSR2 was more forgiving. Who doesn’t need forgiveness in a driver.

I've really liked my TSi3 driver for the last couple years, but during the fitting, I was getting 2-4 mph faster ball speed with the TSR3. I was happy that the TSR3 looks just like the TSi3. The fitter did a great job having me try a couple other shafts...wound up with the Ventus Red 6. Can't wait to get it !

the new driver is an absolute game changer for me. according to the trackman data I was able to get an extra 5 mph ball speed and an additional 27 yards of total distance on average. Coming from a TSi4 I did not expect to gain much out of this, but the numbers don't lie. the sound is perfect and the shape is much better than the previous in my opinion.
  26. Because of Covid and the job I had a big box hardware store, where my hours changed week to week, and I only at best had one weekend off a month, I haven’t played a round in almost two years. At my best I was down to a 3 handicap and now I am at best a 10 or 11. I say all of this because the experience I had, as a golfer with a rusty crusty swing, at the TRS fitting at Cedarwood C.C. with Jeff Hendrickson, Dewitt, and the rest of the Titleist team Fitting Specialist was absolutely phenomenal!!!!!!!
The Titleist team there was as open, friendly and welcoming as any experience I have ever had in my 40+ years playing golf. They never once made me feel like I wasn’t supposed to be there, no matter how bad I may have hit their beautiful clubs at times. My wife came along, because the fitting was about 2.5 hours from our house, so we made a day of it. They pulled a bench up for her, offered her bottles of water about ever ten minutes, and even spent time talking with her while I was trying to knock the rust off long enough to get a few solid swings in so Jeff could dial me in.
And boy he did! I settled in with a TSR2, LOVE the profile when setting up to hit the ball gave me confidence that I could work the ball if I need to, and the look was classic classy Titleist. With a change in shaft and loft, from the first TRS I hit, I went from a total distance of 255 to 283. IN ONE SWING! 3880 RPM down to 2200! The club felt just the perfect amount of swing weight to mellow out my swing and it felt a smooth as any club I have every hit. But I would have to say the best part for me was that it cut my misses right from 40 to 50 yards from target down to 15 or 20. That will make saving par on a poor drive much much easier.
I had such a great time I have already schedule my second fitting, for Irons, in a month with Jeff at Duke University Golf Club the first weekend in October.
Jeff is the Fitting Specialist in The Raleigh Durham market, and I can’t recommend a fitting with him enough. Very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain how each change he makes effects the shot. He listened and took the limited club fitting knowledge I had and expanded it then tied it all together.
He also told me the “WHY” of the changes he was making to the TSR2 I was hitting, I appreciated that because it made it much more correlation the equipment changes made to the spec the club and I were having on the balls flight and distance.
Needles to say I order the new TSR2 and can not wait for it to arrive.
Thanks again to Jeff and the Titleist Fitting Team who took such great care of us at the TRS Early Release Fitting.
  27. The new driver is the best ever. It looks gorgeous. It feels amazing. Sounds just right. As my best friend and Sunday regular always says. "sounds like a good one". The fitting team did a fantastic job and got me all dialed in. if you haven't tried it do it. As they say, numbers don't lie.
