I can handle some music, but do not have the habit of having music going on the course.
I prefer to listen to the birds and visualize birdies

Led Zeppelin all the time while I play
  3. Sometimes I play music during rounds with my buddies, and only at low volumes. Would never play it during a competitive round, out of respect of others, plus I need all the focus I can get.
  4. I think it really depends on who I am playing with and when I am playing. With my regular crew on a afternoon round upbeat fun tunes are good. If its a early morning round its nice to just take in scenery and relax. If im playing by myself ill listen to a podcast with ear buds and pause it between shots.

I don't play music while playing or practicing myself, but if group members have it it doesn't bother me as long as they keep it reasonable. What does bother me is when other groups go by blasting music everyone else on the course can hear.

If you want to listen to music on the golf course, wear your earbuds. The probl;em with music on the course, the other guys in your group may not like what you like and find your music to be an unnecessary distraction. Golf is difficult enough without having an additional distraction.
  8. In the AM, definitely no. I like the quiet peaceful tranquility of the course. I am tolerant of music during afternoon rounds but avoid courses who blast it from the clubhouse.
  9. One person's favorite music could be another's nails on the chalk board. I wouldn't want my Enya or Guns n Roses or Merle Haggard or whatever impacting someone else's game.

For me, the game is beautiful enough, it doesn't need improvement or a sound track. My muttering after a 250yd hook into the woods is music enough to the golf gods.

I don’t have music on out on the course, but I do have it at the practice area.
Something about it on in the back ground helps to relax me and find my swing.
  11. While I personally don't play music when I play, I'm not bothered by others playing music with in reason.

My favorite music while on the course..... my driver making pure contact with the ball.... the ball hitting the bottom of the cup! Everything else is just noise on the course.

I think for "bar outings" or "giggle golf" with the Wife, music is ok. "Real" golf, no bueno...

I play most of the time by my self and I love to play music. But with a group I don't play it.
  16. It depends on who I'm golfing with and what type of tournament it is cause usually play a lot of scrambles and the groups usually enjoy the music.

It depends on the competitiveness of the round. If it's a relaxed weekend round, then music all day long. If it's a tournament round, then you should be respective to your playing partners and/ opponents.
  18. I am SOOO excited for this to be my very first post!! Newbie here, and couldn't have stumbled upon a better topic to comment on!

I have a serious connection with music... and not just on a personal level. It rivals my golf obsession, which is saying something. The odd thing is... I'm either in the mood for it on the course, or I'm not. Generally depends on the group I'm with, and if we are playing for any jelly beans.

I do play an awful lot of golf by myself... and when I do, you can pretty much guarantee that I am listening to music. My tastes vary, and I definitely have more than one playlist to choose from, in case I need to change gears mid-round. Regardless, it always starts with a Grateful Dead song... seems to make the gallery shot on the first tee a little less stressful. LOL

I'm a big fan of music on the course but I know many people are not. Whether I play music or not just depends on the group I'm playing with. If I don't everyone in the group and their preference, I just don't play it.

Yup, I prefer music. Not everyone does, so if there are any objections, it’s off. Just no comedy routines in the track, that talking, start and stop is distracting...
